Community Project – Stafford

Community project in Stafford

As part of our commitment to the community, both Falcon Construction and Tesco contribute to a cause to benefit the local community. Upon completion of the Stafford store in February 2012, a donation was handed over to Laura Ashton, (School & Community Liaison Officer) at Sir Graham Balfour School in order for them to improve their book collection in the school library. An educational visit was also organised for 20 pupils during the construction period.

December 2008: Falcon Construction and Tesco support the RNLI

RNLI Amble Crew Members

As part of the commitment to the community Tesco contributed to a cause to benefit the people of the area.  In Amble this was donated to the local RNLI as the store is prominently placed close to the part of this thriving fishing village in which RNLI plays a very important role in the area.

The new Tesco Express store in Amble celebrated its launch on Monday 15 December with two donations to local charities.

Both Amble Development Trust and the RNLI benefited from the opening of the new store.

Executive Director David Milburn and Chairman Terry Broughton from Amble Development Trust and Rodney Burge and John Young from the RNLI were the guests of honour when the new Tesco Express store opened on Queen Street . The representatives were invited to cut the ribbon to declare the new store officially open at 10.30am.

As part of the opening celebrations, store manager Malcolm Dale and his staff presented both charities with a cheque for £500 each. The store chose to donate to Amble Development Trust, with the other £500 coming from Falcon Construction, the company who built the new Tesco store.
